It's been too many days since I published anything.
Hey. I hope this finds you all well today. I’ve been feeling better and therefore have not been writing. I write mostly to get something off my chest. I write to fill the voids of injustice that permeate my screaming mind. I write as it's the only power I have to change anything. Lately, though, I’ve not felt a need to change anything, personally, and I have been fine with that.
Honestly, fuck the whole world lately. I’m fine. Sorry about your luck but for the first time in my life, I’m having some good happen. Some really, solid, transformative good happening. It's like the promise of the American Dream is actually happening in my tiny corner of the world and I just want the rest of the world to stay the fuck away. I’ve been enjoying my life and I’m sick of the world trying to take that from me anytime I read the news.
To top it all off, my old stuff is still getting enough views now to generate some income so I’ve gotten really lazy this month.
I also just sold my house! It was my main residence for a while but after losing my job and moving in with my fiance, I turned it into a rental. It was just barely paying for itself and my bills but it was really starting to nickel and dime me with much-needed repairs. I’ve been vocal about really wanting to sell. My renters decided to make me an offer. After a weekend of thinking about it, I took the offer.
I lost a ton from the price I paid in 2005 but I still got some cash out of the deal. I’ve been sitting on that cash for the last week and it's inspired me to do not much at all except enjoying my life without so much worry. I’ve been on a “staycation” on our new property and it's been great.
For the first time in my adult life, I am debt-free. I realize more than ever how much I hate doing anything just for money. Jobs of any kind, they all suck. I also realized that I wished I had just gotten into real estate at the age of 20. If you have the means to become a slum lord, I highly recommend it. Just get a property that does not need too much maintenance.
