Lost drone now found.
So at the end of January, I lost this little guy. He was cheap. My first drone. No GPS. No auto hover. No come home when you call it sort of a drone. There are many better drones out there now but this one was mine and I loved it. What others may have in brains, this one may beat in toughness.
One day I let it get up too high and the wind took it away. I never thought I’d see it again.
Fortunately, I did put my phone number on it. I also put up a sign at the entrance to the subdivision where I last saw it soaring away. At the veryleast, I just wanted to know that it did no one any harm or damage to property.
I’m glad I did because yesterday I got a call.
“Droseph” had been found by a nice neighbor named Mark.
Faith in humanity (or at least my neighbors) restored.
Sometimes people surprise you in good ways.
Always label and fly (or crash and lose) your drones responsibly. It's your responsibility where ever it goes and whatever it does. I’m happy this time it all ended well. My next drone will definitely have a bigger brain.
I cleaned him up inside and out and let him dry for a few hours. After over a month of being outside in a Michigan winter, amazingly he still works! Rain, snow, sleet and day after day of freezing temperatures were not enough to kill him.
I may retire this one before it tries to escape on me again though.
He’s earned some rest.
