Michigan. The new promised land.
Michigan just became the most progressive place in the known universe.
America is in limbo. As of this moment, America’s congress is a teetering scale between the fascists and the progressives with the moderates keeping it from falling off the table entirely.
Meanwhile in Michigan . . .
We now have a completely democratically controlled house and senate for the first time in 40 years.
We have a returning lady governor, secretary of state, and attorney general.
Our lieutenant governor is black.
We have a liberal majority in our supreme court and most of them are also women.
Women are allowed to get an abortion just about anytime they want.
Voting just got easier and more secure.
Elected politicians at the state level now have more time to build relationships with colleagues and constituents with extended term limits in a single chamber.
State-level elected officials now must disclose their personal financial information.
In a word, PROGRESS!
