Ritten Off Day 24. I never use my “reward points.” Why can’t I donate them?

Looking at you, Speedy Rewards!

Are you like me?

Of course not. No one is, but maybe we have something in common anyway.

We go to gas stations or some other bastion of consumerism that gives “points” for buying their shit. We never use these points. They just keep stacking up.

The stores just hope and wait for the day we can’t live another day without a 69 ounce Mr. Pib, a dozen chocolate squishy things, and are we also somehow simultaneously strapped for cash at the same time.

I like Mr. Pib well enough and the occasional chocolate squishy thing, but I just don’t go out of my way to get that or any of the other countless food-like items redeemable with gas station points.

Why can’t I just donate them to a kitty where someone who NEEDS to eat SOMETHING that day can do so?

Today I got yet another email from Speedway about my “Speedy Rewards.” Speedway is a convenience store chain all over MI, and most places East of the Mississippi River. They want me to come in and use my points to get some food. Sorry Speedway. I usually just get fuel and the occasional car wash.
