Ritten Off Day 3. The Covid stupidity continues.

And so does the cherry-picking of “information.”

The other day I was talking to a pastor I know. I don’t know many. His daughter got Covid. None of them in his branch of the fam tree have gotten vaccinated. Looks like she’ll be ok. She’s young and healthy so odds are she probably will be.

Still no excuse for not getting vaxed.

Anyway, he goes on to tell me that some guy in his church also got Covid a while back and it totally kicked his ass. The pastor then said the guy was overweight and out of shape. Covid was a “wake-up call” for the guy to start taking better care of himself.

“Good idea,” I think I said.

I should also probably say that this pastor is about to officially be part of my family too. My GF and I are now engaged. The pastor is her brother-in-law. He’s married to my GF’s sister.

We have what you’d call a “mixed” family politically and educationally speaking.

I love her family. They are really a good bunch of people. Just don’t talk about politics or anything reasonable regarding health and religion with them if you want to maintain the status quo.

Anyway, I’m listening to the pastor talk about the guy and his “wake-up” call to better health.

I kept quiet but I could not help but think ok, he’s going to improve his health. Great! But based on what information?

Fox News propaganda screaming about some new pill or some actual peer-reviewed science on how the human body actually maintains itself long term?

This is the problem I have with the right and their “wake-up calls;” it's all cherry-picked.

Sorry, but you can’t tell me you care about your health with one face and then tell me you’re not going to listen to doctors, REAL doctors with degrees in HUMAN medicine.

Get the fucking vax!

It's now been proven safe and effective a BILLION PLUS times over. I am looking to get my booster ASAP.

If you want to improve your health and protect the rest of us, THAT’S how you do it.

Of course, I said nothing of this opinion to my soon-to-be new brother-in-law.

He’s got his “good” books to read, I have mine, and rarely shall they meet.
