Ritten Off Day 31. Happy Solstice!
It's getting brighter but is anyone more enlightened? Ask Covid.
Welcome to the shortest day of the year. Today is when the Earth is tilted the furthest away from the sun in the northern hemisphere. Tomorrow we begin the slow slog of getting longer and longer days. More and more time in the light.
Will anyone become enlightened though?
Probably not.
I’ve already told half my family I’m not coming to see them this Christmas. They’re ok with it. The other half still wants to meet but we are hoping for a compromise and moving all this BS to June.
Either way, I’m staying home. I’m doing what I now see as my duty to my fellow countrymen who have chosen sanity. I’m making the “choice” to do what is “my right” with “my body.” I’m refusing to hang out with people who continue to make bad choices with their bodies.
Their “beliefs” are wrong.
I’m done coddling their feelings.
Be they religious zealots or sentimentalists longing to maintain dangerous traditions I’m sorry, but I am out this year. Again.
