Snowpocalypse Day 1, 2022
It’s here.
11:07 AM Somewhere south of Lansing, MI
Snowpocalypse has arrived. Sane driving has not. I’ve not seen a plow go by yet. I may have missed it. I guess everyone assumes the deer that normally walk through here are staying down while it snows. Probably true but if one does decide to bolt, both the driver and deer are screwed.
At the moment, I’m not sure it's still snowing. We have a few inches of accumulation but it's drifting everywhere too so hard to tell. Seems like pretty light stuff but smallish flakes. It blows around easily, piling anywhere the wind tells it to go. I can appreciate the feeling of freedom that must give it, but it is blocking our garage now. We have a snow blower that I've yet to use. I probably will after I’m done writing here.
It does not matter if there is still more on the way. I want to use the new blower. Not to mention we have a guy that lives out here that seems to really live for this. He has a tiny tank with adaptable tools on the front. Ok, it's not really a tank. It's one of those track-steer little guys like a Bobcat but not that brand. New Holland. Anyway, I have to get out there and prove that we can plow our own driveway I think. It’s nice that he does it. He drives it as if he could thread a needle with it. It's just sometimes the snow hides things that maybe I didn’t…
