Snowpocalypse Day 2, 2022

Still snowing. We still seem to be luckier than most.

9:19 AM Somewhere south of Lansing, MI

Still snowing. Still drifting. We still have heat, power, food, and water. The plow job I did on the driveway yesterday has now been filled in by the relentless wind. Its as if I did nothing at all.

Time is like that.

Legacies are like that.

No matter what anyone does in this life, be they an ancient Egyptian pharaoh or a newly humiliated Elon, the constant march of time will trample it all down to dust. The passing eons will erase it all.

Your life is truly pointless compared to the vastness of all time and space.

Everything that exists suffers from this fact whether conscious of it or not.

All any of us can hope to do is alleviate suffering when we see it.

Nothing could be more true but again, the hope of legacy gets in our way to do what is right. The world views of still far too many see suffering in the future as more important than the suffering happening right now. “We must save the unborn,” some say while doing nothing about the born without food, shelter, or being surrounded by the love of decent human beings.
