Merry Christmas! We’re staying in.

It’s still snowing! Drifts are everywhere. Roads are being plowed but it's still way too cold to salt. It won’t melt anything at this temperature. We are officially staying in now. We have everything we need.

We were going to chance a visit to my wife’s family today just across the county but not today. We really need a truck or a 4WD out here. I have a car that I almost never use. It's old but it may be time to consider trading it in for something with 4WD. Even if it's not in the best condition, it will still probably do better than my little hatchback.

I really hope more people just stay home today. People that have this need to uphold a tradition no matter what mother nature throws at them are scary. Entire families are going to die today just for what? So they can see some family today instead of some other day soon? What difference does it make if it happens today or when the weather is clear?

Christmas as the ridiculously anticipated event that it has now become is only a recent tradition anyway. We can all thank TV and radio for amping it up to the dangerous levels of mirth and mayhem we now must tolerate. Something has to be done to stop all the unnecessary deaths in Santa’s name. What good are…
