Snowpocalypse Day 7, 2022
And then it was gone.
8:45 AM Somewhere south of Lansing, MI
It’s currently 45F out right now. Rain is forecasted for maybe today and the rest of the week. Snow is doubtful as are freezing temps.
Welcome to Michigan!
I know a lot of states say this about their weather too but with MI you really can just “wait five minutes if you don’t like the weather. It will change.”
Everything now has that nasty sheen of dirty snow, mud, and road salt all over it. I hate when it looks like this. This is why I’ve never liked spring. Sure, spring can be a hopeful time but to me, it’s like watching the sausage get made. Gross and disquieting. I just want the carnage to be over and then enjoy someone else’s hard work with their finished product.
Not to mention, it's nowhere near springtime yet. We still should expect at least three more months where planning any travel is a crap shoot. I’ve said it before, it’s rare that MI will kill you but it's this time of year when it’s usually the most psychotic and bloodthirsty. The nice thing though is that MI is a noisy stalker. She’ll give you plenty of warning when she’s about to pounce. All it takes to survive is to listen closely and prepare accordingly.
