The Virus Day 106, Dimondale, Michigan
All well. We went to see my family in St. Joseph. Hot but overall a great day. Breezy and we had a fan going too. We never did get down to the lake but it was great seeing everyone again.
We stayed outside for the most part. We never did BIG hugs but did sit within a few feet of each other. No one was sick or has been sick. My dad did say he knew someone that actually had and survived COVID but it was just an old acquaintance that he's not seen in years.
I can’t lie. If I know the history of someone I trust I will probably not be as proactive as, say, making a Lowes run and walking around strangers. If you say you’ve been limiting your contact with strangers and wearing a mask otherwise, yeah, I’ll probably lower my defenses a bit. But out in “the world?” Its masks on all the time and keeping the hand sanitizer handy.
Some might say that not having a personal experience about this means its all “overblown.” “Masks aren’t necessary. It's no worse than the flu,” MAGAS like to keep saying. Well, like all precautions, you never know if they worked. All you’ll ever know is that others died and you didn’t.
That’s the only personal experience I want with COVID.

If you won’t and I don’t know anything about where you’ve been for the last two weeks, stay the fuck away from me.
