The Virus Day 18, Dimondale, Michigan

All well. Its gonna be nice out today! I can’t wait to get out there and work in the garden.

Yesterday we worked on the hardwood floor some more in Gabriel’s room. We ordered groceries from Kroger. It takes a week now for them to complete an order for us to pick up. Our neighbor to the south gave us a call, Ella. She’s old but feisty and smart enough to stay in during all this. We’re adding some things to our Kroger order for her but a week is longer than some of her supplies will hold out. Hopefully, she can make due for a few days without some milk and eggs.

I transplanted more tomato sprouts yesterday. Planning to start way more than I need, as many as I can. I’m already making deals trading them for eggs. Saw a headline mentioning the need for a vaccine ASAP. Get used to a much more barter-based trade economy. I don’t see the current model of our economy surviving without people doing something out in public.

I guess that means we need a NEW ECONOMY, ya think!? Maybe one that puts The People at the top instead of the rich. A new economy that stops squandering all the resources. One that stops converting our potentially meaningful lives into “jobs.” One that ends “money” sitting in banks in ever-growing piles of power and corruption in the form of “compound interest?”

Dare to fucking dream.

Again, my optimism abounds as long as we can all survive the next few months.
