The Virus Day 34, Dimondale, Michigan
All well. Almost lost a family member though. Bobi our “pet” robo vac got tied up in a rug and tumbled down the stairs. He’s tough though! Just a little cosmetic damage but he's still running well, even after a year of use.
I rolled the dice when I got him used on Amazon for cheap but he still had his full warranty. One or two issues at the start but the service dept was great about new parts. Or they were. Who knows now. I hope I can keep him sweeping the floors for a long time without needing brand new parts.
I really hope this whole virus thing raises the quality of everything. Things need to be designed to be fixed again. More things need to be made to last a lifetime.
Bobi does his thing twice a week. I clean him pretty religiously. No free lunch with house cleaning though, especially anything with a vacuum. At some point, they NEED to be cleaned out. Doing so routinely makes them last nearly forever. I can’t tell you how many times I've cleaned out “dead” vacuum cleaners that were really totally fine. People just treat them as disposable things and would rather blow another $150 than just take 20 minutes to tear it down and blow it all out. Sometimes it's…
