The Virus Day 49, Dimondale, Michigan
All well but the cat just will not shut up in the morning on nice days. He’s been let out near the house just enough to want it all the time now. He needs his shots. We can’t get them yet as vets are closed. We only let him out when we can keep an eye on him. We don’t want him to get stung by anything that gives him heartworm. Still risky as it is but we want him to have a good life too.
Sometimes we just can’t give him anything else to do when we’re busy so we try the water squirt bottle to change his mind for a few minutes. But soon enough the “lesson” is forgotten. He still never really “learns.” He just never gets why WE don’t do what HE wants! Sometimes he’s just a persistent, relentless bastard.
When water is not deterrent enough he forces us to chase him around the house and play with him. Like I said before its all about distraction with cats. Punishment just does not really work for long. Why we even try anymore is a fool's errand.
I love chasing him and having him chase me too but I just wish it was on my time and not his every morning lately. We all need the exercise so I guess it’s really a win-win.
He’s fine now after an invigorating round of hide and seek.
Cats.
Be well!
