Well, today is May 4th. “May the 4th be with you.” I’ve always preferred the Star Trek universe instead of Star Wars but lately, there is little difference sadly.

At least I think so. It used to be you could watch the latest Star Trek thing for free. Not anymore really. It's all on a pay-for-it stream now. That’s sad too.

I remember very well watching the original series on a 19-inch black and white in the 80s, reruns on WKBD TV 50 out of Detroit. We lived in Cadillac back then. I guess now that I think about it, we were paying for it then to on cable, but it was from a broadcast station so if you did live near The D you could watch it for free.

Fill me in here if you’re reading this, correct me if I’m wrong but I see little difference between the Trek and the Wars these days. Trek used to be an exploration of morality, ethics, and the human condition.

Then Roddenberry died and it all went dark.

The Borg turned it all into explosions and flashy flashy, surface-level right and wrong, a simple threat to all existence.

The nuance was gone.

I must admit I liked it but it got old fast.

I just don’t care about the latest effects and bigger explosions anymore. I want…
